He said Rempson tried to make minority students visible to the committee by way of a letter in the student council. He also attended and including any remarks about him. However, Jensen said, a similar letter may be written for non-minority students by a member of the staff. Once a student has applied, he said, the school uses no system of insecure minorities to determine who is accepted. He said there were fewer blacks than usual in this year's class of 200 students, but said, "I don't see this as a trend yet, but as a fluctuation."
