INAUGURATION DAY AT PITTSBURG NORMAL Educators to Honor William A. Brandenburg, School's First President Pittsburg, Kans., Mar. 26.—Will Aaron Brandenburg-first president of the State Manual Training Normal—will be formerly inaugurated next Friday. All the heads of the state educational institutions, other prominent educators and Governor General of New York state officers including the state board of administration members, will be present. The formal ceremonies of inauguration will take place Friday morning. President Brandenburg will deliver his inaugural address and Dr. L. D. Harvey, president of Stuart Institute, a school similar to the usual institution, delivered an address. In the afternoon the first of complimentary addresses will be delivered by Dr. Hill M. Bell, president of Drake University, Des Moines. Mr. Brandenburg is a graduate of Drake. Other speakers at this time will include Chancellor Frank Strong of the University of Kansas, President H. C. Wawer, State Agricultural College, President T. W. Butcher of the Emporia Normal, President W. A. Lewis of the Hays Normal, President Wilbur N. Mason of Baker University, W. D. Ross, state superintendent, L. O. Lowther of Salina, president of the Kansas State Teacher Association and Watson, Ex-Governor E. W. Hoeh, member of the state board of administration, will preside at the inaugural. The day's program will end with the annual commemoration banquet. Thursday will be commemoration day. The founding of the Normal eleven years ago will be celebrated. H. B. Wilson, superintendent of the Topeka schools, will deliver the principal address. Prof. L. I. Brower of the Normal family, will review the history of the school. A Home Economics conference will be addressed by Mrs. Roland P. Murcats of Wichita and a conference of Industrial Arts will hear Dr. Harvey President Brandenburg took charge of the Normal at the beginning of the war.
