Frank Godding a junior in the College who met with a painful accident a week ago Saturday, is conversate. As he was coming up the hill on Ontario street, his bulldog attacked a small spaniel in the middle of the street. Frank ran to the rescue of the smaller dog and in attempting to separate the two, his left hand was badly lacerated. If any class proposes to get a siren whistle as a memorial they can get twenty-five dollars as a starter from Guy Von Schriltz manager of the 1914 Jayhawker. "I would give twenty-five dollars for a chance to blow a siren whistle next fall if Kansas beat Mizzou," are his exact words. It is evident that he took in the celebration at Columbia last fall. Around Mount Oread The popularity of J. Ralph Endicott, a freshman engineer from Arkansas City, has greatly increased since the recent event in which the Ark City girls won the state championship in basketball. He appointed himself as a committee of one during tournament week to dominate the team's activities of the University. He reports that about six of the team intend to enroll in the University as soon as they are graduated. Prof. D. C. Rogers, of the psychology department, has just returned from a flying trip to see his father in New Britain, Conn. He made the trip of 1500 miles in one day. One oak tree he saw was to go from New York to Boston, only one-eighth of the trip which Professor Rogers made. Russell Gear, president of the junior class says he is of the opinion that if there were a few more men in the University like Pink Wingert what everybody thinks about the faculty the University of Kansas would cease to take on the semblance of a girls' seminary. A new canoe and the desire to test their skill on the river during Tuesday's windstorm, proved the undoing of two awful rains. Eliza Blazar. The wind took them up the river all right but returning was impossible and shortly a quick gust of wind threw them both into the water. They got in again, determined to do or dare, but again the canoe capsized. They walked down the bank an hour later walking down the bank with their craft on their backs. Losing $2500 in a robbery the other day does not prevent Glen C. Calene, 13, from visiting his friends at K. U. He is general manager of Sylvan Grove and the company at Syllan Grove. He has been staying at the Kappa Sigma house. E. H. Dumire, '06, is confined to his home at 1526 Rhode Island street with a threatened attack of typhoid. He holds the position of city engineer. Amos Harpen, center for the Ashland team that played in the basketball tournament, has nerve. Even though he spent two hours in Doctor Naismith's electric machine to "bake" a badly sprained back he played a plucky game clear up to the last. Ashland, you know, is the great debating center, the eloquent Carsons hailing from thither. Bud Ritter is the one man on the hill who knows anything about what the Student Council did or said Tuesday night at its secret meeting. During the brief period of time that it took Bud to pass the "closed door," one member forgot to talk in whispers and piped out that: "I think the whole thing ought to be chalked up to the Board of Administration." There is talk of making Bud private detective for the Council. With a following of ten Lawrence merchants, Prof. D. C. Croissant went to Ottawa Tuesday night and told the Ottawa merchants about the University and about Merchants' Week. The wind blew away a great part of Margaret Meyer's education Tuesday when it seized upon her notes and turned away the notes to five courses. and is working on the Lamar Daily News. Dean L. E. Sayre returned this morning from Kansas City, where he ha been since Monday evening. He addressed the Kansas City Medical Society Tuesday evening and visited houses yesterday, making arrangements for a visit of the students of the School of Pharmacy to Kansas City. Have you ever met a student who "makes a kick" about getting a I in a quizz? One such man has been named. He was involved in more several engineering students, Hugh Shorty Brown who got the highest grade in a certain quiz, will Frank O'Sullivan, a former student in the department of journalism and a member of the Kansan board, of the American Cancer Society, weeks ago, is now in Lamar, Colo. be seen leading a line party down to a moving picture show and paying for the seats. Hence the "kick." Among those who will be present are Verne Newton, Carl Baer, and Oren Ruth. Many a time and oft has Francis Stevens, a junior in the College, stood in the Forum and asked his Friends, Romans, and Countrymen to lend him their ears. During the last three days the character man of the erstwhile Patti Players has been brought by Francis' left ear has been aching so much that he has been forced to carry it in a sling.
