Students participate in energy study By LISA MASSOTH Staff Reporter A group of KU faculty and graduate students will study the energy efficiency of electric motors at the University of Kansas and Wichita State University beginning Oct. 1. IF APPROVED, the grant will be the largest matching grant ever given by the Department of Energy for a technical assistance program, he said. "We've gotten approval from the Board of Regents," Fortin said. "All we need now is notification from the agency that it will match the grant." The energy analysis will be funded by matching grants from the state of Kansas and the Department of Energy totaling $282,000. Paul Fortin, liaison to Board of Regents for the preparation of the energy study, said yesterday. The energy analysis is the third phase of a four-phase project started several weeks ago. According to Fortin, 25 buildings at Krakow in Witcha State will be gutted.
