THE UNIVERSITY DAILY KANSAN DEBATING CLUB FORMED V. J. Rosecrans and Fred W. Calvert Elected Officers of New Organization A University debating club was organized Wednesday night. The club is the outgrowth of the Public Speaking class, and is to meet in Frazer Hall from 7 until 9 o'clock. All who are interested in debate are invited to join the club, though credit is to be given to the original members. only. The club's purpose is to develop the university's debating spirit in the University. V. J. Rosecrans was elected president of the club, and Fred W. Calvert, secretary. The entire debating squad belongs to the club and their first debate is in the final debate, given Wednesday night, was "Resolved That Aliens Should not be Allowed to Own Land in the United States." The debating work done is now in progress this year, according to Prof. Henry Shinn, coach in debate. Louisville Is Mecca For Thirsty Nation Louisville, Ky.
