UNIVERSITY DAILY KANSAN APRIL 18,1919. Hamilton Takes Five Men to Drake Track Carnival W. O. Hamilton, with the KU. relay team of Dewall, Clift, Rookey, and O'Leary, and Marshall Haddock left this morning for Des Moines, Iowa, where they are to participate in the big Drake track carnival Saturday. Manager Hamilton will officiate at the track events, having accepted position as head referee. The relay team is entered in the mile relay, and expects to bring home the bacon. Haddock is expected to be one of the stars of the meet, being entered in a special 100-yard dash. The K.U. relay team is also entered in the half-mile relay, with Haddock in place of Dewall. Johnny Wahhistelt lost a couple of cokes yesterday when he failed to connect with the pill for a base hit in the Stoie-Bricken game. Beisner walked him twice and Body fanned him twice. And Johnny such a moral young man! The selection of W. O. Hamilton, manager of athletics at K. U., as referee of the Drake relay carnival at Des Moines Saturday, is an accurate commentary on the standing of the Lawrence director in his own community of athletics. A. L. Oswald will spend Saturday and Sunday in Hutchinson. Cozette Johnson, fa'22, went to her home in Eureka, Thursday. Twenty-one shades of Rit at the City Drug Store.—Adv.
