He received KU's HOPE teaching award in 1965 and was given KU Research Grants in 1965, 1966 and 1967.
Prof. Paul Boeckman will lecture on the plays of Berthold Brecht at 4 p.m. Friday in the Kansas Union Pine Room.
The title of the lecture is "The Drama of Social Contradictions in Berthold Brecht's Plays."
Boeckman, a scholar in Germanic languages at the University of Cologne in Germany, has written several articles on German literature. He is the author of books on Schiller, Holderin and Formgeschichte.
