--- Page 11 University Daily Kansan Year's Literary Contest Winners Are Announced Winners in literary contests held this year have been announced by W. D. Paden, professor of English. Bernice L. Schear, Oberlin graduate student, received the $100 first prize in the William Herbert Carruth poetry contest. The second prize of $50 went to Robert C. Peters, Leawood junior, and third prize of $25 to Joseph Reardon, Kansas City, Mo., senior. Grace C. Walter, Cos Cob, Conn, senior, won first prize of $25 in the Helen Rhoda Hooper contest. Winners in the Edna Osborne Whitecomb contest were Virginia G. Miller; Wichita junior, first prize of $100; Sharon McClure, Norton senior; second prize of $50, and Carolyn Ely. Newton sophomore, third prize of $25.
