Angela Davis' political orientation and radical
tactics in her fight for the emancipation of oppressed people resulted in her dismissal from the faculty of UCLA in 1969. In 1970 Davis was brought to trial for conspiracy, kidnapping, and murder in connection with the attempted prison break of a political prisoner. Since her acquittal, Davis continues to work tirelessly for an end to economic, racial and sexual oppression.
