Lichter started planning the program this spring and will be teaching the course as he and his students travel around Israel. Lichter spent three weeks in Israel this summer talking to professors at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and planning the trip. Originally, he intended to have some of the professors supplement his teaching with lectures. But he discovered that the Bible was taught only as Jewish literature.
