Reed, editor and publisher of the Parsum Sun for more than 40 years, has given $100,000 to the Kansas University Endowment Association to establish the Clyde M. Reed Distinguished Professorship in Journalism. Income from the endowment will provide a salary stipend to a news-editorial faculty member in the William Allen White School of Communication and Mass Communications. Endowment officials announced yesterday. "KU's School of Journalism has an outstanding faculty — no doubt about it." Reed, 201, said yesterday. In 1982, he sold his newspaper to Harris Enterprises Inc., and he and his wife, Betty, moved to Lawrence.
