Christine Cressie, the president, said a black presidential candidate, black mayors and a black Miss America had given black students incentive to become more active at the University of Kansas. Cressie recently replaced Rochelle Moore as BSU president when Moore did not return for the fall semester. BUS kicked off the year with its first general assembly meeting last night in Alderson Auditorium of the Kansas Union, during which members discussed BSU goals and issues and elected additional officers. gains We, as well, should be motivated to do the same," Cressie said.
