"Overall, we swam all right, enough to win convincingly," Coach凯巴Bul萨唠 said. "It was just an unimpeded meet. The team too keyed up. It was a long dual." Despite a lack of inspiration, KU swimmers managed to win 10 of 12 events. Kurt Anselmi led the Hawks, capturing the one-and-the-three-meter diving events. "We did what we wanted from the start," Spahn said. "We won the medley relay, and Jdm Sauer won the 200 meter race." The athlete is just pretty good for him this time of year." Spain said the 200-meter breaststroke provided the only real excitement of the dual. Steve Graves, the Big Eight, was on the field in event, had to come from behind to win. Her swimming coach Gary Kempf has a warning for KU's opponents. He issued it after the Joywhacks slipped to three at the Cycle Relays in Ames, Iowa. It was the first time in the four years that I've been here that we've had a total team lift. "Kempf, the coach of the defending Bickford, has not lost another team team led this year." The final standings showed KU had not won all three games and also finish behind Big Eight for Iowa State. "I feel confident, while embarrassed that we've been back," Kemp said. "We're both nervous and we have big feelings. Big Eight meet. I have no plans of losing the Right meet and neither do my swimmers." Women swimmers upset Wisconsin finished first with 229.5 points. Iowa State was second with 211 and KU was a distant third with 178. Round out the playoffs. Wisconsin, 156, Iowa, 103 and Southern Illinois, 96.5.
