KU law students get drunk for a good purpose

"It sounded like a good idea," said Dee Tidy, Larned, when asked why she volunteered for the experiment. "I had an OUI (operating under the influence) hearing a couple of weeks ago and won."

was legally drunk after three beers, with a blood alcohol content of 12 percent. A person who has blood alcohol content of 5 percent is legally drunk in Kanaas.
Lorey said there was almost as much alcohol in one 12-ounce can of beer as there is in a bottle.
Dan Crabtree, Kansas City, Kan., said he thought the demonstration was a good opportunity to find out the effects of a couple of beers.
"In Legal Aid there are so many people with alcohol problems," he said.
"This is a good chance for me to find out what my clients have been through.
