A 28-year-old man being held in the Douglas County jail has been ordered to be extradited to Arizona, where he faces two counts of first-degree murder, district attorney Mike Malone said yesterday.
The man, Jasper Newton McMurtrey, was charged with three felonies after he allegedly took a Jefferson County farmer prisoner at the farmer's home Aug. 28, and held off a gunman who ordered enforcement officials for five hours.
McMurtrey was charged in Jefferson County with kidnapping, aggravated battery on a law official and aggravated burglary.
