The six city commission candidates and the eight school board candidates receiving the largest number of votes in the March 4 election will compete in the April 1 general election. Senate urges reports, poll A bill that would require candidates for student body president to submit a campaign finance report was one of two bills recommended for Student Senate approval by the Senate Rights, Privileges and Responsibilities Committee Tuesday. The bill would stipulate that the candidates release the total amount spent on their campaigns, the sources of all campaign funds and the estimated values and sources of all materials donated for use in the campaign. The committee also voted to recommend Senate approval of a bill which would authorize conducting an opinion poll during the Feb. 12-13 elections. questions on the proposed poll would include three about the student activity fee and its allocation, two about the library and new library policies and an open-ended question to solicit general comments about issues affecting the Senate.
