10 Friday, October 17, 1986 / University Daily Kansan Sports Briefs Runners to compete The KU men's cross country team will face Florida today in the Rim Rock Farm Invitational. The 10-kilometer race, which will begin at 3:30 p.m., will be at Rim Rock Farm, approximately 10 miles north of Lawrence. The KU women's cross country team will be in Springfield, Mo. tomorrow for the Ozark Invitational. Teams scheduled to compete are Southwest Missouri State, Central Missouri State, Oral Roberts University and Northeast Oklahoma State. Freshman runner Lisa Kirwan, who was the Jayhaws' nominee for September's runner-of-the-month in the Big Eight Conference, will not compete tomorrow, said women's head coach Mike DeBord. She undergoing tests and treatment this week for soreness in her legs. Baseball games set The Kansas baseball team will finish its regularly scheduled fall season this weekend with double headers tomorrow and Sunday. The team is trying to reschedule several games that were rained out earlier this year. Eight games were canceled because of weather or scheduling problems. Labbate Community College will be the opponent at 1 p.m. tomorrow at Holcom Park and Sports Complex, 25th Street west of Iowa Street. The teams will play two seven-inning games. The Jayhawks, who are 6-2 this fall, will play Crowder Community College at 1 p.m. Sunday at Holcom. Softball tourneys end Intramural softball tournaments finally came to an end yesterday after two weeks of rain delays. The season-ending single- elimination championship softball games were scheduled to begin September 22, but instead, overlapped intramural football games which began Oct. 6. The Men's Hill Championship game, played between the winners of the men's trophies league, was won by the Fifth 2-1 over Phil Delta Theta II. In the Men's Independent Trophy League, Twelve Fifth beat KU's Finest 13-6. Phi Delta Theta II won the Men's Greek Trophy League 1-0 over Kappa Alpha. The Women's Hill Championship went to the Wild Wenches after an 11-6 win over the Tennessee Kats. Non-trophy championship tournaments were also completed yesterday. The Sax Maniacs beat the Bala Bomb Squad 12-6 for the Co-Reck championship. In Men's Greek Rec A, the Pikes beat BTZ 6.7. The Walleye beat KTK 17-2 for the Men's Rec A championship.
