OAKLAND (AP)—Oakland's Bill North slapped a sharp snip up the middle in the bottom of the 14th inning, driving in Bert Campaneris with the winning run in the Athletics' 2-1 win over the Kansas City Royals here last night.

Women's basketball sets squad meeting
The women's intercollegiate basketball team will have an organizational meeting at 4:30 p.m. Monday in Allen Field House before starting their conditioning program, Marian Washington, women's athletic director, said yesterday.
