The event will honor the late James "Jim Bob" Clarke, a 10-year line cook at the Oread and Eldridge hotels, and the money raised will go toward a scholarship fund for his two young children. Clarke died unexpectedly this summer and left behind two children, ages one and three, said Nancy Longhurst, general manager of the Oread. Clarke spent the last five years working at the Oread after spending five years at its sister hotel, the Eldridge. during his numerous stays there, Longhurst said. She said Riggle was more than willing to help out when approached by staff members. "We just thought it would be really helpful to their family to provide and to set up some kind of a scholarship fund for the kids since they are so young and since he had worked for us for so long and was such a part of our lives," Longhurst said. "We wanted to do something for the family." Riggle has starred in movies such as "The Hangover," "21 Jump Street" and "The Lorax."
