"This is a great time for them to take a leadership role." Over the next month, team members will have to focus on their individual workouts. Campbell said, especially because the team's next race is not until Jan. 18 in Lincoln, Neb. The team will continue training in Lawrence for the next week, and, after finals, will go home for 12 days "I know I have a team that will maintain or exceed expectations over break," he said. "I'm confident we will be at another level that is higher when we get back." During that time, Campbell said, the team members would need to maintain a commitment to training. Coach Campbell has organized a trip for the team to train in Acapuleo for eight days, starting Jan. 4. "We are going to work really hard and put the finishing touches to get fast for the Big 12 races," he said. Edited by Ryan Malashock Free forAll Would someone like to tell me why the guy's basketball team goes 0 for 2 over Thanksgiving break, and the girl's team goes 2 for 0, and yet there are five stories about the guy's team and one small paragraph about the girls? KU girls rock. --- - This is to Roy Williams, who is the cutest and most adorable basketball coach in the whole entire world. And the University of Maryland sucks, and I'm so upset about leaving Kansas. So, good luck, Kansas. I love you guys. My friends and I, we were just watching TV, and at the same time thinking about how Kirk Hinrich is not 100 percent because of his back. And then we saw the commercial that will save his career at KU. The Bayer aspirin commercial. Take some. I just called to say I'm watching ESPN2 NBA developmental league, and Eric Chenowith is playing. He has four points in the third quarter. guess that's what he meant by going to the big time after he left Kansas. 圆 Hi. I know I'm a freshman and totally clueless as to how basketball ticket sales go, but can someone please explain to me how in the world UCLA general admission tickets were sold out at 8:36 a.m. if public sales didn't begin until 9 this morning? Woo, Texas. - I wasn't allowed to enter the CMSU game because the KU ticket office wouldn't let me in with a bus pass and my student schedule. I didn't have my ID, and they ruined my night. Thank you very much, KU men's basketball ticket holders, you ruined my night. Jeff "The meal ticket" Graves needs to go. 脑 - Hey, this is five girls, sitting in our room watching the KU game, and we came to the consensus that Nick Collison definitely needs to find a tanning bed soon. 睛 Yeah, I was just at the KU basketball game with Central Missouri State, and has anyone else noticed that Baby Jay has put on a little weight? I was wondering, who knocked up Baby Jay? I think it was one of the Crimson Girls. Did Collison just break up with his girlfriend or something? I mean, why else would he be playing so crappy? - All I have to say that is until KU learns to play perimeter man-to-man defense, we are going to get beat inside every single game we play. 图 - Ok, I'm sitting here watching the KU game on TV, and the CMSU player just took a shot, and he hit only the back boards, and the KU fans started saying "airball." That's not an airball, morons, that's a brick. An airball means that he doesn't hit anything at all. Get it straight. - I've just got one question. This is for Jeff Graves, a.k.a., thickey thick. Can I braid your hair? If so, come to McCollum, 5th floor. - Yeah, this goes to the hater that said Wayne Simien couldn't play, well, check the Central Missouri highlights. Oh yeah, Central Missouri sucks. Holla. POLL kansan.com Are you planning on attending any Kansas sporting events during winter break? Dante Hall returned a kickoff and a punt for a touchdown, one week after running back a punt 90 yards for a score, as the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the injury-depleted Rams 49-10 yesterday. St. Louis (5-8) lost its third straight after winning five in a row. Any chance the Rams had of making the playoffs ended later when San Francisco rallied to beat Dallas 31-27. Hall, who'd done almost nothing his first two years in the NFL and battled all through training camp for a spot on the roster, is the second man in the NFL this year to score on two kick returns in a game, and the first Kansas City player to ever do it. Priest Holmes rushed for 132 yards and scored two touchdowns for the Chiefs (7-6), leaving him just two shy of the NFL record of 26, which the Rams' Marshall Faulk set in 2000. COLLEGE FOOTBAL Kansas State accepts Holiday Bowl invite Kansas State, shut out of the Bowl Championship Series despite its No. 6 ranking, accepted a bid yesterday to play in its third Holiday Bowl. The Wildcats (10-2), who missed a perfect regular season by only seven points after going 6-6 a year ago, will meet unranked Arizona State in the Dec. 27 game at San Diego. Kansas State's two losses this year were by four points to Colorado and three points to Texas, both bowl-bound teams. The Wildcats, who stayed at No. 6 in the final regular-season poll, were one of only two teams to beat No.5 Southern California. Kansas State officials, including coach Bill Snyder and university president Jon Wefald, went to Miami on Tuesday to make their case for an at large Orange Bowl bid.
