"It seems to me you should factor those in. CBS just likes to cry a little bit." The six games between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Atlanta Braves averaged a 20.2 rating with a 34 share, Nielsen Media Research said yesterday. The only series with a lower rating in prime time was in 1989, when an earthquake-interrupted the Oakland Athletics' sweep of the San Francisco Giants got a 16.4 rating and a 30 share. Colorado victory survives ruling The Associated Press KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Colorado does not have to forfeit its Oct. 8 victory against Missouri, even though one of its players was determined to have been ineligible for the game, the Big Eight Conference says. Conference athletic directors and faculty athletic representatives voted to grant Colorado an exemption to the league's policy requiring schools to forfeit games when it is determined an ineligible player had participated. One of the Colorado football players was found to have had too few class credits when the game was played because he had dropped a class. The student later added another class and regained his eligibility. A conference representative yesterday declined to release the breakdown of the vote, taken yesterday. Big Eight policy requires that an offending school forfeit its game unless officials vote in favor of an exemption.
