Ten minutes later, a 1991 Ford Tempo with the words "Safe Ride" stenciled on the door arrived to take Melissa home. Three KU students use Safe Ride to get home safely after an evening at a local bar. Making passenger feel comfortable with the service is one of Safe Ride's main goals. Students need to be ready to go when they pick up the phone and dial, Campanini said. "We always turn on the four-way hazard lights to alert traffic around us." Campanini said.
