Kneading nerves ON CAMPUS ■ Women's Student Union will meet at 5 p.m. today in Alcove D of the Kansas Union. N. R.O.T.C. will have a sail regatta at 10 a.m. tomorrow at the Yacht Club at Lake Shawnee. ON THE RECORD Clothing valued at $150 was taken about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday from a business in the 800 block of Massachusetts Street, Lawrence police reported. Thirty dollars in cash was taken between 8 and 8:50 p.m. Monday from an unattended purse in the 900 block of Iowa Street, Lawrence police reported. Students parking behind Fraser Hall will lose their excuse for parking illegally when KU parking services adds a new sign at the lot's entrance next week. Fraser parking to change Kansan staff report The lot is split, with half of the spaces open to the public after 5 p.m. and the other half open after 7:30 p.m. Don Kearns, director of the parking department, said he told parking patrol officers to be more lenient with illegal parkers in that lot until a more specific sign could be installed. "I'm telling my people it's a very sensitive issue, so ease off," Kearns said. "We're trying to change parking's image on campus. We're trying to get service oriented." Other changes discussed during the parking department's first meeting of the semester yesterday included: Having three lot designations — dorms, commuters and faculty/staff, instead of dividing the parking classifications of University employees. Building a second parking garage near the Kansas Union. Tightening parking restrictions at Jayhawker Towers and Stouffer Place apartments, particularly during basketball games. Reassigning Joseph R. Pearson Hall's parking lot at part red for faculty/staff and part yellow for commuting students.
