Assistant athletic director Gary Hunter said yesterday there was a strong possibility Kansas' second game in the Hawaiian Airlines Maui Classic Nov. 28 would be televised. If both teams win their first-round matches, that game could feature Kansas versus Iowa. The Jayhawks were ranked seventh and the Hawkeyes were rated 11th in the initial Associated Press poll. The Jayhawks play host Chami- nade and Iowa opposes Stanford in the opening round. Men's, women's swimming teams to travel to Arkansas for dual meet with Razorbacks "It would be a great game," Hunter said. "But we have to get past the "giant killers" (Chaminade) first." The telecast would be the first of a pending eight-game package aired on KSHB-TV, channel 41 in Kansas City, Mo., WIBW-TV, channel 13 in Topeka and KSAS-TV, channel 24 in Wichita. The stations are selling advertising time. The men's and women's swimming teams will compete in a dual meet at 12:30 p.m. tomorrow against Arkansas at Fayetteville. The Razorback men's team is ranked N. 15 in the country in the latest College Swimming Coaches Association poll. The Kansas men's team is 1-1 in dual meets, and the women's team is 1-2. Kansas junior backstroker Glenn Tremmel will swim in the meet tomorrow, Kansas swimming coach Gary Kempf said. Tremmel will leave immediately after the meet and travel to Hongo- lulu to participate in the United States Swimming Elite Training Camp. Trammel has qualified for the 1988 U.S. Olympic Trials in the 100-meter backstroke. The camp, Nov. 22-28, will bring 73 of the nation's top swimmers for training and sessions on alcohol awareness, media training and goal setting.
