Staff writer Instead of voting to leave AURH, the Hashinger government decided their bring grievances up for review and appointed the executive board meeting Tuesday. Bonnie Johnson, Shawnee, Okla., junior and president of Hashinger Hall, said the hall's declaration of independence was not a serious proposal to leave AURH. Its purpose, she T The Hashinger government decided to their bring grievances up for discussion at the AURH executive board meeting Tuesday. said, was to make the members of AURH aware that Hashinger is unhappy with AURH. The declaration was written by Melissa Parsons, Phoenix, Ariz., junior, and social chairman of Hashinger. The document lists nine grievances. Most of the grievances criticize the decisions of AURH and how those decisions are made. Johnson said the document was written after an AUR general assembly meeting Tuesday. At the meeting, the AUR general assembly proposed a change in its constitution that would require all residence halls to have a president and vice president representing each floor of each residence hall. Johnson said that Hashinger objected to the proposed change in floor government representation because two floors at Hashinger do not have a vice president. Nigro said that Hashinger could leave AURH simply by not sending representatives to AURH meetings. But if Hashinger decided to leave AURH, it would be unable to influence decisions on issues that affect the hall. The Hashinger government decided last year that the residents of each floor should be able to determine how many officers they want Ross Nigro, Kansas City, Mo., junior and president of AURH, said that the constitutional amendment still had to be ratified by six of eight hall governments before it would go into effect. The amendment can be killed if Hashinger can convince the other hall governments that Hashinger should be able to keep its present system of floor representation, Nigro said. representing them, Johnson said Director: Barry Levinson. Richard Dreyfuss and Danny DeVito are hilarious as two rival aluminum siding salesmen who are determined to outsmart each other in the name of revenge. Levinson returns to early 60's Baltimore, the site of his Diner, for this equally evocative, wildly funny slice-of-life with offbeat characters, great comedy and appealing nostalgia. With Barbara Hershey. (1987, 108 min/Color.R) MIDNIGHT MOVIE Director: Barry Levinson. A group of young men gather at their favorite dinner in Baltimore to discuss their most important issues - women, sports, and sex. This hilarious, fascinating film of the '50s is unforgettable.
