Senior Trisha Mangan was named to the women's all-academic team, and sophomore Dan Schneider was named to the men's squad. Mangan, an exercise science major, had a 3.94 grade point average at the end of the 1987 spring semester. She said that her academic performance coincided with her athletic achievements. "When one started doing well, they both did," Mangan said. "Last semester just worked out well. That was my best season in track and in school." Schneider, a triple major in economics, business and Chinese, had a 3.65 GPA. The Manhattan resident said he chose economics for the "sheer academic pleasure" and Chinese because of a fascination with the culture. "It's just kind of to set myself apart from the crowd." Schneider said. "There are a lot of business majors out there."
