ON THE COVER:
Persephone, painted in 1938 by Kansas City artist Thomas Hart Benton, is in the collections of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City.
The painting depicts the goddess Persephone, who in mythology is connected to the cycle of seasons and the planting and harvesting of crops.
Due to construction at the museum,the gallery where the painting is housed is closed but will reopen in the spring.
