The author of two widely used books on economics is a well-known instructor to many students on campus. His other book, "The Soviet System in Theory and Practice: Selected Western and Soviet Views," was published in 1965. He is Harry G. Shaffer, associate professor of economics, who teaches the large introductory economics sections as well as courses in comparative systems and the course on the Soviet economy.
