Section B·Page 4 The University Daily Kansan Monday, September 29, $ 19^{\circ} $ 1997 Kansas women golfers place 16th Kansas staff report The Kansas women's golf team placed 16th out of all 18-team field at the University of New Mexico Dick McGuire Invitational this weekend. The Jayhawks, playing in their second tournament of the fall season, had a team score of 943 and finished 87 over par for the invitational. Texas Christian captured the team title with a team score of 900. Other top-five finishers were Oklahoma State, New Mexico, UCLA and Texas. Freshman Jamie Tucker led the Jayhawks with a three-round score of 232 (74-78-80). She tied for 31st. Junior Mandy Munsch and sophomore Susan Tessary tied for 37th with a total score of 233. Munsch completed rounds of 78, 74 and 81, while Tessary had rounds of 80,73 and 80. Senior Beth Reuter finished tied for 79th with a total score of 245 (83-86-76), and freshman Ashley Bishop was tied for 93rd with a score of 255 (85-87-83). The Jayhawks will return to the links Oct. 5-7 at the Big 12 Conference Preview in Columbia, Mo. n The Kansas men's golf team played the first two rounds at the Missouri Bluffs Invitational yesterday, although results were not available at press time. The third and final round of the invitation will begin this morning. At the Kansas Invitational last week, the Jayhawks won their first team title of the season, and sophomore Ryan Vermeer won his first collegiate individual title. Final team results 1.
