While the team does not compete until Oct. 26 at the Head of the Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, Heather Galvin, assistant coach of Kansas crew and coach of its novice squad, will have some critical decisions to make this week. "Final cuts are on Friday, and we'll be down to 30 novice women on the team," Galvin said. "Those 30 women are in addition to the 42 varsity members already on the team. We have been practicing five days a week for two hours a day, so Galvin we're eager to start everything." Galvin said the fall season provided Kansas crew with a good warm-up. The team also has a race schedudel for the morning of Nov.8, the day of the Kansas- Kansas State football game in Manhattan.
