High Fliers Needed for Club Wanted: Ten hardy, high-flying KU students to form a sky diving club. An organizational meeting of those interested will be held at 7:30 p.m. today in Alcoves A and B of the Kansas Union. Captain Merrill Steele, assistant professor of military science, is organizing the club. Steele and Philip Morton, a licensed sport parachutist, will give lessons. THE SKY DIVING club will be organized under the auspices of the Parachute Club of America. Ten people, male or female, and students or faculty, are needed to form the group. Steele said. The club will observe the safety regulations of the Parachute Club and of the Army training program. Ten to 15 practice hours are required before a student can make a jump. STEELE SAID the campus will be the site of the early ground training. Air practices are tentatively scheduled for the airport at Ottawa, south of Lawrence. Licensed pilots are also urged to contact the group, Steele said. Required Rush Orientation Set All women planning to participate in spring sorority rush must attend an orientation meeting Oct. 14 in the Kansas Union Ballroom.
