VENUE Cocktail of the week The Hurricane Proven recently by the dreaded Francis, there's no denying it's hurricane season. So why not have a cocktail of the week inspired by everyone's favorite natural disaster? Legend has it, the Hurricane originated at the infamous Pat O'Brien's Bar in the French Quarter of New Orleans. There are several varieties of the drink, but the original variation was pretty strong. Here are two variations, one simple, one a bit more complex. 1: A simple storm .75 ounces Jagermeister .75 ounces Yokon Jack Dash Irish Cream Pour ingredients directly into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. In a cocktail shaker, mix the rum, passion fruit juice or syrup, the other juices and the sugar until sugar is dissolved. Add the cherries and stir to combine. Then add ice and shake.
