mDmo University Daily Kansan Page 11 English Profs Going to NYC Eleven members of the KU department of English plan to attend the 79th annual meeting of the Modern Language Association, to be held in New York City, Dec. 27-29. English professors W. P. Albrecht, A. C. Edwards, Edward T. Erazmus, R. A. Georges, Joel Gold, Charlton Hinman, Melvin Landsberg, Myra Olstead, Harold Orel, Raymond Waddington, and George J. Worth. Professor Albrecht will serve as a member of the Advisory and Nominating committee to the section which will discuss the topic: Wordsworth and His Contemporaries. Prof. Hinman will serve as secretary to the section on Bibliographical Evidence. Prof. Orel will act as discussion leader of a conference on Relationships between Literary and Historical Scholarship in Irish Studies. Prof. Erazmus also plans to attend the linguistics meetings, which will be held in New York concurrently with the association meetings. On Dec. 29, at an affiliated meeting sponsored by the American Folklore Society, Prof. Georges will deliver a paper on "The Function of Saints' Legends among American Immigrants."
