Wolf named KUMC Dean Dr. George A. Wolf, Jr., assumed his new duties as provost of the University of Kansas Medical Center and dean of the School of Medicine on Sept. 1. Dr. Wolf, former executive director of the Tufts-New England Medical Center and vice president for medical and dental affairs of Tufts University, was appointed to his new position by the Kansas Board of Regents in March. Wolf, Jr. Dr. Miller, resigned from the faculty of the University to accept the position of Vice Chancellor, Health Sciences, at the University of North Carolina. The new administrator has spent his life and professional career in the East. Born in East Orange, N.J., and graduated from Montclair (N.J.) High School, he earned a B.S. in biology from New York University Heights College in 1936 and the M.D. from Cornell University in 1941. "Dr. Miller's resignation is a loss to the University and to the State," Chancellor Wescoe said. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
