6A NEWS THE UNIVERSITY DAILY KANSAS TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 2006 ENROLLMENT (CONTINUED FROM 1A) properly, the Office of the University Registrar would not be able to help them get into those classes because it was not a power of the office. Even in the case of a senior, Derritt said the office couldn't help. She said the only way students could potentially get into classes they needed would be to ask the instructor to give them priority on the waiting list. William Staples, professor of sociology and chair of the department, said that it depended on the circumstances but that, in the case of a senior who needed the class to graduate, the department would do what it could to find a slot for him or her.
