FACTS ON BATH SALTS
Calls at poison centers:
U. S. poison centers have taken 2,237 calls regarding toxic products marketed as "bath salts" so far this year. Poison centers took 302 calls in 2010.

Consequences for using or distributing bath salts:
Distribution and possession with the intent to distribute is a severity level 3 drug felony for a first offense; a level 2 for a second conviction or if the offender is over 18 and distribution or intent to distribute occurs on or within 1,000 of school property; and a level 1 for a third conviction.

Possession is a class A nonperson misdemeanor for a first conviction and a severity level 4 felony for a subsequent conviction.
Consequences of using in the dorms:
Students who violate this policy will be subject to sanctions which could include completion of an approved drug, alcohol rehabilitation program, disciplinary warning, probation, suspension and expulsion from the University. For more info on levels visit the University's policy on its website.
