I don't dive. The summer my mom signed me up for diving lessons was a traumatic one. As I stood at the end of the diving board looking into the 12 foot deep pool of water below me, I was scared, "I don't want to jump," I told the teacher standing next to me on the diving board. He said I had to. Just as I turned to face the water, my teacher pushed me in. When I came up to the surface.
I was fuming. I came home from swimming lessons that day and told my mom I would never dive again.
Even though Katy Humpert's article about scuba diving sounds thrilling and fun - I'm just not sure that I'm ready to take that plunge.
