Although it is unrealistic to expect all minority graduates to be placed in jobs, qualified people are finding jobs, Adams said. Fourteen minority students from high schools in Kansas and Kansas City, Mo. are participating in the workshop, which will run through June 27. The workshop provides exercises in reporting, editing, photography and print journalism in general. In addition, the students will out a small publication. "It will be a fast paced, hardworking two times for them." Adams said. Members of the faculty are in charge of most of the instruction, but the students will also meet and talk with journalists from around the country on radio and television stations. Adrian said.
