Although Mangino achieved a 50-48 record overall and a 3-1 record in bowl games, questions about how he treated his players created too much pressure for him to continue coaching at Kansas. The Jayhawks went 14-1, losing their final game of their non-conference schedule to Tennessee. They looked dominant, with only a few teams giving them a challenge.
