Jan Berringer says letters, prayers have helped family cope with the loss and pain
Mother of former quarterback thanks supporters
LINCOLN, Neb. — Jan Berringer just wanted to say thanks today to all the people with whom she shared her son Brook.

The mother of the late Nebraska quarterback met with reporters at the university's football offices at Memorial Stadium, where Berringer helped the Cornhuskers win back-to-back national championships.
"I need to tell the people of Nebraska and
others across the nation how much their support has meant and how it has helped my daughters and I deal with our pain," she said.
