SIT-IN—Student demonstrators entered the Chancellor's office early yesterday morning to protest against housing discrimination. About 150 students were sitting in the hall and in the chancellor's office and keeping rather orderly. Photos by Harry Krause AT 5:30 P.M.—The students did not allow the officials to close the chancellor's office at 5 p.m., were arrested for disturbing the peace and marched into three buses for the trip to the county jail. IN CUSTODY AT 5:50 P.M.-The three buses were kept under surveillance until facilities were ready for the 130 demonstrators arrested. The overflow from the Douglas County jail were taken to the Lawrence jail. SEEKING BOND AT 7:15 P.M.—Students were paying bonds and being released from their arrest in the evening. Bond was set at $25 with 10 per cent required from out-of-county residents and only signatures from county residents.
