Clarke Wescoe to study the role of placement examinations. The tests are now given to all new students during KU previews or orientation. They consist of scholastic aptitude and achievement tests in the fields of English, mathematics, chemistry, and foreign languages. The study is prompted now by problems of administering the placement tests to increasing numbers of students during the summer and the period just before enrollment and by problems of how placement test scores can be used in enrollment.
