British to sail for mysterious land
LONDON — (UPI)— A British expedition will set sail May 3 for Vinland, that mysterious part of North America which the Vikings are said to have discovered long before Columbus sailed from Spain for the New World.
The Guardian newspapers, sponsor of the expedition, said today the expedition will sail
from the North Sea port of Scarborough and try 'o use the currents and tidal streams to reach the same landfalls the Vikings found.
