Catholics show small gain
The Catholic Church in the United States has gained less than 5 per cent of the total population in the past decade, according to figures published recently in the official Catholic Directory for 1968.
The Directory listed the current total membership of the church, including both Roman and Eastern rites, as 47.468.333, or nearly 24 per cent of the nation's population.
