Joseph Pichler, professor of business and one of the members of the investigation committee, said in the report one of the most consistent themes running through the inquiry into the matter of Abrams' relations with the department of design is the extent to which the parties involved differ in their recollection of various agreements made and decisions reached within that department.
"Two instances are particularly worthy of mention," Pichler said.

"First, Abrams maintains that he was hired with the understanding that he would be teaching photography as well as standard design courses. Marjorie Whitney, chairman of the department of design, is of the opinion that he was employed only for teaching the standard courses.
"Second, Abrams maintains the faculty of the department voted to include a photography course in the curriculum. Miss Whitney has no recollection of such a vote.
