Page 13 Business, Economics Departments Award Scholarships to Students Seven KU students have received scholarships in recognition of outstanding achievement in the departments of economics and business. Bruce D. Hall, Coffeyville junior, Carl Maxwell Logan, Holliday junior, and Robert I. Guenthner, Augusta senior will each receive $400 from the department of economics applied toward expenses at the University next year. LOGAN AND HALL each received the A. J. Boynton scholarship, in honor of the late professor of economics at KU. Hall also received the Domenico Gagliardo scholarship, in honor of the late Prof. Gagliardo. Logan has held several scholarship awards at KU, and has been president and social chairman of Stephenson scholarship hall, director of the KU Young Democrats, treasurer of University Party campus political group, and member of the International Club. Guenthner received the John Ise scholarship in honor of Professor Emeritus John Ise. Hall is a Summerfield scholar, and has been vice-president and social chairman of Sigma Chi fraternity, member of the Kansas Relays committee, People-to-People, Interfraternity Council, KU-Y, and Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity. GUENTHINER, ALSO a Summerfield scholar, is carrying a double major of economics and English, and plans to attend law school. TOEWS of Inman, received the Phi Chi Theta key as the outstanding senior woman in the school. Lauren S. Ward of Ottawa received the Wall Street Journal student achievement award as the outstanding senior in finance.
