International Club To Meet Saturdays
The International Club will meet on Saturday nights for the remainder of the semester because of a conflict with the Friday night movies at Hoech and the Kansas Union.
Samy Aliff, Cairo, Egypt, graduate student and president of the International Club, said he asked the University committee on movies to change the movie schedule to avoid the conflict.
Affy said he asked that the movies be changed to another night, run every other Friday, as they were last year, or change the time from 7:30 to 7 p.m.
The committee refused to change the movie schedule. Affy said, so the International Club meetings were changed.
Affy said he requested the earlier time for the movies so the International Club program could begin <earlier.
The program for this Saturday will be a panel discussion of the European Common Market, followed by "Cabaret Night," during which students will play music of their countries.
Dr. Ethan Allen, chairman of the political department, will be the main speaker. Members of the panel are Georges Aubert, France; Gerhard Bassier, Germany; David Griffiths, England; Joseph McKenna
Affify said he regretted the University's tendency to call students from other nations "international students." Many people tend to confuse the "international" in international student with the "international" in International Club, he said.
"Students from the United States are invited to attend International Club meetings too," Afify said. "The purpose of the International Club is to encourage understanding among students of all nations.

Model UN officials said that late signings will be accepted, but all registrations should be in before the first introductory session on Feb. 14.
The deadline for formal registration of delegates for the KU Model United Nations will be at 5:15 p.m. today.
The KU-Y reported that there are several openings left for representation, including three of the top political blocs. All those who are interested in participating in the KU Model UN should inquire at the KU-Y Office as soon as possible.

KU Student Directory Reveals Coast-to-Coast Commuters
The University of Kansas Student Directory for 1963 lists several hundred students who commute. The ratio of male to female among commuters is approximately 3:1. So what you say? Keep reading.

If the address listed for a commuting student is Topeka, Kansas City, Leavenworth, Paola, Ottawa or any of many other nearby communities, it seems logical to accept the address as valid.
With some stretching of the imagination, one can envision persons commuting from such places as Wichita, Salina, Emporia, Dodge
City, Great Bend, Hays and Coffeyville.
But can anyone believe that somewhere on this campus is a student who commutes from Boulder, Colo.? Perhaps Rockville, Md., is more reasonable.
Other addresses listed by "commuters" include Summit, N. J.; Northbrook, Ill.; Anoka, Minn.; Wainbrough, Wakesha, Wis.; Stillwater, Okla.; Escondido, Calif.; Pensacola, Fla.; the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Mass., and the Brookhaven National Lab.
The one that takes the prize, however, is Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Man, that's a long drive!
