The biggest-selling item for men at J.C Penney, Oak Park Mall, Overland Park, is Levi's Dockers, said Clyde Harmon, senior merchandise manager for men's fashions. Both Dockers pants and shirts are popular.
Short sleeve shirts in 100 percent cotton with a wrinkled look are fashionable, he said. Madras plaid shirts and nautical sweaters also are selling well.
In men's sportswear, black Lycra shorts or knee-length Capris pants with a Lyca rug are popular. Harmon said.
Men are beginning to coordinate outfits more this year than they did in the past, said Jack Rodgers, Dillard's store manager at Oak Park Mall. Tops and botts are the same color or feature the
same plaid design.
From day to night
After wearing a T-shirt all day straight from the 80% with a neon smiley face, you don a dress in a pastel floral print for a soft, feminine look before hitting the nightlife.
"It's going to be an odd mix," Heine said.

This is an example of some of the contrasts between this year's casual day and night fashions.
Women's dresses for evening are more tailored than they have been in recent years. Floral prints are prevalent, especially in pastel colors, which are always popular for spring. Heine said.

T shirts can be dressy enough to be included in the nightwear wardrobe. A T-shirt with capped sleeves is appropriate for evening, Furse said.
Silk blouses also are popular, as are sleeveless and loose-fitting jumps, which are big sellers at Britches Corner, he said.

Roders, store thirsty. For men, fashionable evening wear includes a structured jacket with a loose fit, less than in the past, Rodgers said. Or, men could consider a jacket with a drawing at the bottom, much like a windbreaker.
Levi's Dockers can be worn at night with a blazer and a casual shirt. Harmon said. Casual shirts are still button-down oxford, but the texture is moving toward 100 percent cotton.
Although slacks in solid colors, such as navy and gray are still popular, there laterly has been a move toward plaid or striped pants.
Because the Z-Cavaricci pants are unisex, men also can wear this popular item for a night on the town.
