I have had many leadership roles within the Greek Community during my time here. I feel like those skills that I have learned will help me strive and do great things in Student Senate. RESIDENTIAL(1 SEAT) Coalition: ConnectKU Biography. It's the duty of the residential senator to chair the Residential Housing Board at least once a month. They haven't met during my three years on campus (two in Senate). I will call this board to order before year's end to address currently neglected issues: Safety, privacy, rising rates, and parking. I am familiar with the goals of all the coalitions running and I made the decision with United Students because I felt they were the group most focused on direct campus change. All students should have a say over what they pay for and where their money ultimately gets spent. ConnectKU and I will ensure that students' voices are heard and that the ninety-two senators are not putting words in their constituents mouth. Feldman in Student Senate, I felt left in the dark about what Senate was and how they were using student (our) money. I want to make sure students know what is going on and have a say in these decisions since KU belongs to us all. ConnectKU is the only activity I've ever participated in KU. Thus, being a student senator is a great opportunity for me to get involved. It's too elitist, it's out of touch, the people in charge don't care about helping people, etc. I believe in the ability to create change from within, and that is exactly what I am to take part in doing. Over the last year, I have seen some significant changes that have taken place within Senate, both positive and negative. If elected to serve as a junior/senior CLAS senator, I would see to it that the legislation brought about was more broad in scope and had an impact on a larger portion of the University.
