The Screen Actors Guild Web site says 90 percent of its members have to rely on income outside the acting profession for food and shelter. It's not caviar and a penthouse — it's Ramen and a roof. The Web site also suggests that actors train in another line of work in case reality is far less glamorous than the dream. But of course it's not just an actor's struggle, it's anyone wanting a job in movies. Matt Jacobson, associate professor of theater and film, says everyone's rolling the dice.
